all lust, all ladies, all the time

the moon was huge and hanging over the olympics this morning.
unfortunately, i was carrying the cannon. i was not carrying the d70.

who, i ask, has ever run out of salt? excepting, of course, the star trek episode where mccoy hooks up with his old love who isn't really his old love but is actually an alien who needs salt like we need water; or, rather, who needs salt like we need water after we have salt. ahem. anyway, the alien has run out of salt, it needs salt to survive, so it kills a couple of 'red shirts' (sucks the salt out of their pitiful human bodies) but then spock kills the alien. (kirk was immobilized; that happened less as the seasons progressed. hey, that rhymes!) mccoy is sad. end of episode.
i was sad: i ran out of salt. further, i discovered my new, 'salt-less' self after i'd made my early morning run to the grocery. i went back to the grocery and bought salt.
here's a picture of my salt. mccoy is still sad but i am happy. end of episode.
last night i had a califlower flan at earth and ocean
today's fun is: "let's make some savory flans!"
after an early morning run to the tnc, ingredients are at hand and i'm ready to go. the goal is recreate the califlower flan and try an asparagus version.

Yes, the good life lets you hide
All the sadness you feel.
the good life :: bobby darin [Distel/Reardon/Broussole]
Oh, the good life, full of fun,
Seems to be the ideal
Yes, the good life lets you hide
All the sadness you feel.
You won't really fall in love,
For you can't take the chance
So be honest with yourself,
Don't try to fake romance.
It's the good life
To be free and explore the unknown,
Like the heartaches
When you learn you must face them alone.
Please remember, I still love you,
And in case you don't know,
Well, just wake up,
Kiss and kiss that good life goody bye
It's the good life
To be free and explore the unknown,
Like the heartaches
When you learn you must face them alone.
Please remember, I still love you,
And in case you don't know,
Well, just wake up,
Kiss the good life good bye

and you find yourself a message and some words to call your own

Fun
Ummm
Hold on 1 minute
Fun
Hello, Hi yeah it's me
Yeah look I'm going 2 b home again late OK, alright yeah bye-bye
This isn't my idea of fun
Say I'm not going to be the one
This isn't my idea of fun at all at all at all at all at all
Love is meant 2 b so beautiful
Unconditional has it downs as well as highs
So Wonderful
Am I supposed to be amazed
Or is this compulsory
I know love to well
My mind drifts alone
You never comes with me
This isn't my idea of fun
Oh No
This isn't my idea of fun
Say I'm not going to be the one
This isn't my idea of fun at all at all at all at all at all
I try to do this us/we
But this must be yeah a funny kinda of happy
Because lately I find me lacking in stories and yearning
of wanting to be home and in your presence again
I find myself staying or just out delaying
I'm tired of this lying all this false smiling
We're just prolonging and faith avoiding
I'm not the one yall.
This aint fun naw.
This isn't my idea of fun
Say I'm not going to be the one
This isn't my idea of fun at all at all at all at all at all
I had a complex for compliments for offering, for nice comments
For interest
Yeah for attention
In fact paranoia became an addiction
I tried to show affection in so many ways
I'm gazing into eyes and with overnight stays
I'm cooking nice meals
Phone calls in the days
This aint my way
This aint fun
Where's the fun gone?
Love is meant 2 b so beautiful
Unconditional has it downs as well as highs
So Wonderful
Am I supposed to be amazed
Or is this compulsory
I know love to well
My mind drifts alone
And when I go away
you never comes with me
This isn't my idea of fun
Oh No
I'm not this one
I'm not going to be the one
It's not mine

kay starr ":: c'est magnifique [nelson riddle, arrangement]
when love comes in and takes you for a spin, oo la la la, c'est magnifique
when every night, your loved one holds you tight, oo la la la, c'est magnifique
but when one day, your loved one drifts away, oo la la la, it is so tragique
but when once more she whispers "je t'adore," c'est magnifique

best i could do without snow. no people, though. while i am trying to take snapshots with people, i think the difficulty of taking a shot on the afternoon commute without a single soul in the frame should be noted and appreciated.

sinatra or the four freshmen :: i thought about you
I took a trip on a train
And I thought about you
I passed a shadowy lane
And I thought about you
Two or three cars parked under the stars
A winding stream
Moon shining down on some little town
And with each beam, the same old dream
And every stop that we made, oh, I thought about you
When I pulled down the shade then I really felt blue
I peeked through the crack, looked at the track
The one going back to you
And what did I do? I thought about you
